Your fertility evaluation includes an advanced pelvic ultrasound on the highest quality equipment. This baseline exam takes about 10 minutes. Images come from a transvaginal ultrasound creating the shortest distance between the sound waves and the body (uterus and ovaries). There is no radiation with ultrasound.
All of our fertility specialists have a special interest in reproductive imaging and this means a more methodical and deeper level of assessment for you. Items that can be revealed include health of the uterus (uterine septum, Mullerian anomalies), state of the ovaries including follicle counts and, if indicated, fallopian tube assessment. Our atypical approach also allows us to check for more subtle findings of very serious conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis.
Computer-assisted follicle measurements add greater consistency and free more time to talk with you during the ultrasound exam.
