quickest time to pregnancy

we are ready when you are

One of the biggest advantages of a boutique center like Marin Fertility is our response time and the pace at which we get things done. For many patients, especially those who have already completed fertility evaluation and basic fertility testing, the pathway with the most likely outcome of a healthy pregnancy in the shortest amount of time is IVF with PGT-A (using a genetically screened embryo).

This approach combines controlled ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, advanced blastocyst culture in the embryology lab, and preimplantation genetic testing to help maximize the overall IVF success rate while minimizing the number of transfers needed. It is also often the point where patients who have compared IUI vs IVF decide that IVF is the more efficient pathway.

when and how often do I have to be seen?

There are 8 office visits in total during the 8 weeks of treatment. They are divided into 5 office visits during “Month 1” (the first 4-week block) and 3 office visits during “Month 2” (the second 4-week block).

Treatment can be completed “straight through” in 8 weeks or with a break in the middle between the two months. There are no restrictions on how long that break can be (embryos can stay frozen for years once cryopreservation of embryos has been completed).

Month 1 (4 weeks)
5 Office Visits
Month 2 (4 weeks)
3 Office Visits

Treatment can be completed
straight through in 8 weeks or with an open-ended pause in the middle

This flexibility is particularly helpful for patients coordinating schedules, other medical care, or deciding between IUI vs IVF after discussion with a fertility doctor or specialist in reproductive endocrinology.

how soon can I start?

The first step in planning IVF is identifying the next opportunity in your normal menstrual cycle to start stimulation medication. Often this is your next natural menstruation after your initial appointment, but sometimes it involves pre-cycle hormone suppression (oral contraceptive pills) or even starting prior to the onset of your menses.

Every person and each cycle is individualized. Recommendations are based on your fertility evaluation, fertility testing, and ovarian reserve profile, as well as any prior experiences with IUI or other treatments. If you are unsure when to see a fertility specialist, a consultation can help clarify timing and whether moving directly to IVF with PGT-A is appropriate.
